Works carried out by the Design and Construction Joint Venture progress on sea with the main breakwater now over 1 kilometer in length and the Eastern inner embankment to host the 3 ferry berths. For the time being, the Eastern inner embankment is being built by the Design and Construction Joint Venture on a height of 3 to 10 meters depending on the depth of the sea bed, for a total length of 1,056 meters.

The junction between the breakwater and the Eastern inner embankment is planned to be effective mid-February and will create the so-called R4 basin. This “artificial” basin backfilling will start in March with 3 500 000 m3 backfilled material.

After this dredging campaign to last 3 months, the Eastern inner embankment will be raised by 3 meters over its full length to be then finalized.
