Over one hundred children aged 6 to 12 visited this summer the Maison du Projet et de l’Emploi together with their holiday camps’ monitors to learn about Calais Port 2015 project. These visits were organized in small groups during 4 half days as part of a partnership with Opale Tour (an associative agency for insertion in charge of Calais Lighthouse and Fort Risban visits).
The children’s attention, their answers to our quizzes as well as the many questions they asked showed all the interest Calais Port 2015 construction site could generate among the youngest.
With such visits in addition to the monthly site ones or the quarterly workshops, the Maison du Projet et de l’Emploi successfully welcomed and informed our youngest citizens. The Design and Construction Joint Venture has already launched visits of the construction site for older students : a high school, an apprentice training centre (Centre de Formation d’Apprentis) and students in a two-year cycle higher education programme from two universities (French IUT-DUT) already visited the works site.
For more information, the Maison du Projet et de l’Emploi is located close to the Car Ferry Terminal, open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday inclusive, from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5.30 pm.
