The Kaleeïs barge was specially built for Calais Port 2015 site and named at the end of the year. It obtained its administrative operating authorizations to allow starting construction of P11 and P12 ferry berths with the production and laying of the first sheet piles by sea. Unlike P10 ferry berth built on piles, these will be built on either side of a “finger-pier” of nearly 300 meters in boxes filled from the basin. The construction began with the abutments on either side of the finger-pier, on which the linkspans will be placed. Their foundations are currently being laid by ground pile driving.
